Risk Control Specialist / Risk Manager – Device Financing

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Control Specialist to lead risk management initiatives within our Client's device financing business. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in mobile phone financing, digital lending, or consumer finance and have a thorough understanding of risk management throughout the entire financing lifecycle.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing risk policies, strengthening fraud prevention measures, overseeing collections strategies, and collaborating with technical teams to enhance risk control systems.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Strategy & Policy Management

Develop, implement, and continuously improve risk management policies and procedures.

Establish risk frameworks covering customer onboarding, fraud prevention, loan monitoring, collections, and asset recovery.

Monitor portfolio performance and recommend risk mitigation strategies.

Customer Verification & Fraud Prevention

Design and implement SOPs for customer verification, identity authentication, document validation, and fraud screening.

Conduct risk assessments and establish manual review procedures where necessary.

Investigate fraud trends and implement preventive controls.

Portfolio Risk Monitoring

Analyze repayment behavior, delinquency trends, and portfolio performance.

Identify emerging risks and recommend corrective actions.

Develop risk reports and provide recommendations to management.

Collections & Asset Recovery

Support the design and implementation of collection strategies across different delinquency stages.

Monitor collection performance and recovery rates.

Oversee asset recovery processes and ensure compliance with company procedures.

Technical Risk Management

Collaborate with technical and product teams to improve risk management systems and controls.

Support the integration of credit data sources, fraud detection tools, and device management technologies.

Identify system vulnerabilities and recommend enhancements to reduce operational and credit risk.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in device financing, handset financing, digital lending, fintech, or consumer finance risk management.

Strong understanding of the full phone financing process, including onboarding, risk assessment, fraud prevention, collections, asset recovery, and device management.

Experience developing risk policies, SOPs, and control frameworks.

Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

Experience working with collections teams and risk technology solutions is highly preferred.
