Job Description:
MUST HAVE:
4-7 years of progressive financial reporting and accounting experience, in the financial services industry or with a major public accounting firm
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) and IFRS

- The FR&A Senior Accountant will actively participate and drive several routine and ad hoc functions in FR&A. The Sr Accountant will be part of a small team of multidisciplinary accountants that excel at cross-collaboration and teamwork with other members of FR&A and the CFO organization. This team will be looked to assist other FR&A teams during peak times of the year, work on process improvements throughout the organization, assist with reporting functions, participate in testing/validations for system implementations or system changes, participate with year-end audit work, assist in mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures, researching of accounting guidance and writing of accounting transaction memos.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Executes month-end close activities across our multi-currency, multi-entity, and jurisdictional environment such as preparing and/or posting journal entries to accounts (transfer pricing, revenue accruals, LE accruals, etc.), maintaining the general ledger, and review of trial balances.
- Prepare fluctuation analysis of balance sheets and income statements for assigned legal entities.
- Prepare and/or review account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts impacting assigned legal entities and processes.
- Assist the reconciliation center of excellence with the resolution of open reconciling items.
- Assist external auditors with year-end audits.
- Actively participate in DTCC-wide projects, such as reporting systems upgrades and process improvements.
- Identify control gaps and work with the line Manager to devise resolutions for risk and control process documents.
- Establish, maintain, report, and continually improve performance against a set of effectiveness and efficiency benchmarks.
- Work and communicate with the various departments i.e., Accounts Payable, Payroll/HR, Billing, Collections, Treasury, and General Ledger Reconciliation teams in order to ensure a smooth month-end close.
- Other duties as assigned from time to time.
- Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 4-7 years of progressive financial reporting and accounting experience, in the financial services industry or with a major public accounting firm
- Intense attention to detail
- Fondness towards fixing broken processes and being unafraid to challenge the norm.
- High problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to connect the dots.
- Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) and IFRS
