Overview

A leading nationwide SBA lender is expanding its team and seeking multiple Business Development Officers (BDOs) with a proven track record in originating SBA 7(a) and 504 loans. This is a high-performance environment designed for experienced SBA producers who consistently close over $20MM+ in annual volume and have strong referral networks.

Responsibilities

  • Originate SBA 7(a) and 504 loans for small businesses across the U.S.

  • Develop and manage relationships with business owners, brokers, and referral partners.

  • Utilize a proactive, hunter-style approach to generate qualified leads and expand market reach.

  • Review loan requests, structure terms, and coordinate with underwriting and credit teams.

  • Present loan packages to the credit committee and oversee the funding process.

  • Achieve and exceed annual production goals.

  • Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and other loan origination systems.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience originating SBA 7(a) and 504 loans.

  • Proven annual production of $20MM+ in SBA loans (must provide production report).

  • Demonstrated ability to build and leverage a referral network.

  • Strong understanding of SBA program requirements, credit analysis, and loan structuring.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $90,000-$100,000

  • Uncapped commissions with OTE ranging from $450K$600K

Additional Information

Compensation & Package Details – Business Development Officer (SBA Lending)

Base Salary:

  • $90,000 – $100,000 (depending on experience and verified production history)

On-Target Earnings (OTE):

  • $450,000 – $600,000+ annually

  • Structured as base + uncapped commission

Commission Structure:

  • Highly aggressive, tied directly to SBA loan origination volume

  • Top producers earning over $500K+ annually based on $20MM+ funded per year

  • Accelerators kick in once quarterly thresholds are exceeded
