Main Purpose:

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific project ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage on-site activities to monitor the progress of construction.
  • Maintain and document project completion by evaluating all inspections of work performed to ensure every phase is inspected every day for quality of work and daily scheduled requirements.
  • Develop schedules and maintain targeted completion dates.
  • Ensure the timely and costly completion of construction project by overseeing all phases of the project.
  • Issue progress updates as needed regarding costs and timelines.
  • Ensure work is done in compliance with all relevant building and safety codes.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
  • Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports to Head of Projects.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
  • Assist in the hiring of competent field staff to ensure adequate resources are in place for effective and timely execution of projects.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of project.
  • Manage project budget.
  • Perform quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected.
  • Delegate work effectively among employees.
  • Ensure that all the site team is executing according to the approved drawings and materials.
  • Responsible for team and individual performance and improvement plans.
  • Assign and monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and maximize deliverables.
  • Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering "Civil ".
  • Minimum of 20 years of relevant working experience.
  • Competent user of AutoCAD & Primavera.
  • Experienced in the successful delivery of Grade A construction projects.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results.
  • Innovative and self-directed.
  • Ability to deliver initiatives from conception through completion.
  • Ability to work and perform under pressure.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and other team members.
  • Organized, structured and professional, with a passion for excellence.
  • Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines.
  • Proven success working with all levels of management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
