About the job Project Manager
Main Purpose:
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific project ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage on-site activities to monitor the progress of construction.
- Maintain and document project completion by evaluating all inspections of work performed to ensure every phase is inspected every day for quality of work and daily scheduled requirements.
- Develop schedules and maintain targeted completion dates.
- Ensure the timely and costly completion of construction project by overseeing all phases of the project.
- Issue progress updates as needed regarding costs and timelines.
- Ensure work is done in compliance with all relevant building and safety codes.
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
- Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance.
- Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
- Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports to Head of Projects.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
- Assist in the hiring of competent field staff to ensure adequate resources are in place for effective and timely execution of projects.
- Lead the planning and implementation of project.
- Manage project budget.
- Perform quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected.
- Delegate work effectively among employees.
- Ensure that all the site team is executing according to the approved drawings and materials.
- Responsible for team and individual performance and improvement plans.
- Assign and monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and maximize deliverables.
- Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering "Civil ".
- Minimum of 20 years of relevant working experience.
- Competent user of AutoCAD & Primavera.
- Experienced in the successful delivery of Grade A construction projects.
- Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results.
- Innovative and self-directed.
- Ability to deliver initiatives from conception through completion.
- Ability to work and perform under pressure.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and other team members.
- Organized, structured and professional, with a passion for excellence.
- Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines.
- Proven success working with all levels of management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
