Main Purpose:

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining project baselines, ensuring progress is accurately tracked, and monitoring the quality of work performed throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves preparing schedules, reports, and cost baselines while coordinating with various departments to ensure alignment with project objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing the project baseline schedule using Primavera P6 or similar software.
  • Prepare and update BI-weekly look-ahead schedules for site teams.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and procurement to reflect realistic targets.
  • Highlight upcoming critical activities to site management.
  • Collect daily progress data from site supervisors (manpower, equipment, quantities).
  • Update the actual progress in the Primavera P6 schedule or Excel trackers.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, including key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Track and report delays or slippages
  • Attend site coordination meetings with project manager and discipline engineers.
  • Assist in tracking manpower and equipment productivity against planned rates.
  • Liaise effectively with project team and different departments to facilitate communication and maintaining alignment on project schedules.
  • Use EVM techniques to assess project health and performance.
  • Perform any related additional tasks as required.
  • Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or architectural Engineering
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in the construction, contracting, or real estate development.
  • Strong background in planning, monitoring, controlling and reporting for construction projects.
  • Familiarity with EPC, infrastructure, or real estate projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in using Primavera P6.
  • Knowledge of project management principles is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
