Our client is a Nasdaq-listed FinTech company based in Riga, turning traditional financial services into accessible, tech-enabled solutions used by thousands of people daily. With over 300 employees and a strong engineering culture, they build and maintain products that operate at real scale across international markets.
They are now looking to grow their development team with a hands-on Java Developer who enjoys working in a stable, well-structured environment with room to take ownership and grow.
What You'll Drive:
- Develop and deliver features across backend logic, APIs, database changes, and automated tests
- Support investigation and resolution of production issues
- Improve and maintain legacy code without unnecessary rewrites
- Contribute to code quality, CI stability, and overall system improvements
- Deliver practical, reliable solutions while growing technical ownership
- Take part in technical problem-solving together with senior engineers and architects
Who You Are:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Java developer with a good understanding of backend fundamentals, including OOP, REST, and basic concurrency concepts
- You have SQL knowledge (PostgreSQL or similar) and experience writing tests using JUnit
- You are familiar with Liquibase or other database migration tools
- You understand system architecture (monolith vs microservices) and can work effectively in an existing production system to deliver safe, incremental improvements
Nice-to-have: Experience with Spring, GWT, RabbitMQ, Cucumber, or a background in fintech/lending environments.
