Lead Data Engineer (AdTech)

Our customer's team seeks a Lead Data Engineer to design and optimize an internal machine learning (ML) data platform. You'll be responsible for managing data collection, storage, and transformation processes to support analytics and ML operations. Key technical leadership, cross-team collaboration, and mentorship are essential parts of the role. Must be based in or willing to relocate to Barcelona.

Key Duties:

• Lead the management and scaling of an in-house ML data platform.

• Architect and optimize scalable data workflows and pipelines.

• Create and maintain best practices for data handling and processing.

• Develop internal automation tools for data workflows.

• Partner with MLOps, data science, and product teams to improve the ML data ecosystem.

• Mentor junior and mid-level data engineers.

Essential Skills:

• 5+ years in data engineering, 2+ in a senior/lead role.

• Expert-level Python 3 (Pandas, PySpark).

• Skilled in AWS S3, data lakes, data warehouses.

• Experience with orchestration tools (Dagster, Airflow).

• Knowledge of streaming systems (Kafka, Spark).

• Understanding of ML and analytics data handling.

• Basic familiarity with BI and data visualization tools.

"Nice to Have" Skills:

• Databricks experience.

• Familiarity with OLAP systems like Druid.

• Prior experience building ML data platforms.
