Job Summary: Heavy‑Duty Forklift Operator (5‑Ton)

The Heavy‑Duty Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating a 5‑ton forklift to move, load, unload, and organize steel pipe and related materials within a pipe yard and warehouse environment. This role supports shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, and overall yard efficiency while maintaining strict safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a 5‑ton forklift safely and efficiently in both yard and warehouse settings
• Load, unload, move, and stage steel pipe and materials for shipping and receiving
• Secure, lift, and transport long, heavy, and oversized pipe materials with proper handling techniques
• Assist with order pulling, material staging, and inventory control tasks
• Organize materials in designated storage areas to maintain a clean and efficient yard
• Inspect materials for damage, verify quantities, and report discrepancies
• Perform daily equipment inspections and communicate maintenance needs
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain awareness of surroundings in a high‑traffic industrial environment
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of forklift experience in an industrial, warehouse, or pipe yard environment
• Experience operating a 5‑ton forklift is required
• Previous pipe handling experience strongly preferred
• Ability to lift, move, and work with heavy materials safely
• Familiarity with warehouse shipping and receiving processes
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety awareness
• Ability to work in outdoor environments and adapt to changing weather conditions
