RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dispatch trucks, track performance in real time. Monitor overall demand and utilization while prioritizing work distribution.
  • Customer Service: Be the first telephone point of contact for customer questions, orders, pickups, and delivery needs.
  • Maintain constant communication with plant, drivers, operations, and team throughout each order.
  • Communicate with customers to confirm orders and provide logistical updates; address questions, problems, and/or requests for additional products/services as needed.
  • Utilize dispatch systems to monitor and record deliveries, issues/concerns, and problem resolutions. 
  • Data Entry:  complete and accurate order details into dispatch systems and forecast future schedule demands.
  • Determine types or amounts of trucks, equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required, according to work orders or specifications.
  • Monitor and alert drivers and other personnel as needed of traffic problems, such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, or other hazards.
  • Ensure necessary paperwork and schedules are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner; ensure drivers have collected all appropriate documentation and signatures related to delivery/pick-up.
  • Perform administrative functions necessary for daily operations including, but not limited to, report creation, filing, answering phones, copying and other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience working as a truck dispatcher in similar industry.
  • Strong commitment to customer service for our external and internal customers.

SKILLS

  • Proficient with MS Office, inclusive of Outlook, Excel, and Cloud integration.
  • Able to schedule and organize large numbers of people quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact well with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to manage your time effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable in a face-paced, deadline-oriented environment that requires complex, technical information and decision-making.
  • A team player who is reliable, punctual, organized, and able to multi-task.
  • Must inherently have a strong work ethic with a can-do attitude and passion for what you do.

East Houston 

Monday-Friday 

Day shift: 8 am to 5 pm
