About the job Accounting Clerk
- Financial Record Keeping: Accounting clerks are responsible for keeping financial records up to date, ensuring accuracy in all bank statements, invoices, PO's etc. so as to be able to support by locating and researching transaction documentation.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: They handle accounts payable and receivable duties, which include processing invoices, managing payments, and tracking outstanding accounts.
- Data Entry and Reporting: Accounting clerks enter daily financial transactions into the general ledger system, produce financial reports, and reconcile discrepancies in financial records.
- Assisting Accounting Personnel: They provide support to accountants and other financial staff by assisting with various accounting tasks, such as preparing financial statements and sending professional email requests for invoice copies.
- Administrative Duties: In addition to accounting tasks, clerks may perform general administrative duties, such as filing, faxing, and maintaining office records.
- Skills and Qualifications: Mathematical Proficiency: Strong skills in mathematics are essential for accurately handling financial data and calculations.
- Attention to Detail: Accounting clerks must be detail-oriented to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook are necessary for performing various accounting functions.
- Confidentiality: Handling sensitive financial information requires a high level of confidentiality
