️ Manual Lathe Machinist Job Overview
Location: Baytown, TX Schedule: First Shift, Full-Time
Were seeking a skilled Manual Lathe Machinist to support precision machining operations in a heavy industrial setting. This role focuses on shaping and finishing metal componentsespecially pipe ends and fittingsusing manual lathe equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set Up & Operate Manual Lathes: Machine pipe ends and metal parts to exact specifications using manual lathe tools.
 - Read Technical Drawings: Interpret blueprints and mechanical schematics to determine dimensions and tolerances.
 - Precision Machining: Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure parts meet required standards.
 - Pipe Beveling & Threading: Perform beveling and threading operations on large-diameter pipe sections for field installation.
 - Tool Maintenance: Maintain lathe equipment and ensure tools are sharp, calibrated, and safe to use.
 - Quality Control: Inspect finished components for defects and document measurements and production data.
 - Team Collaboration: Work closely with welders, fitters, and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve machining issues.
 
Requirements:
- Experience operating manual lathes in an industrial or fabrication environment
 - Strong understanding of machining techniques and metal properties
 - Ability to work independently and follow safety protocols
 - Physical stamina to handle heavy materials and long shifts
 - Shift 7 am -7 pm Monday-Sat Rotating shifts
