Salary/Rate: $24 hourly

Schedule: 40 hours a week(8 hours per day) Monday Friday (Saturday availability is a must)

The Role

This role primarily supports our legal team in conducting research and formulating responses to Requests for Evidence (RFE) and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOID), crafting motions (such as motions to reconsider and reopen), and preparing appeal briefs. We are in search of proactive and inventive individuals. The ideal candidate should possess at least one year of experience in reviewing, researching, and preparing responses to RFEs and NOIDs issued by USCIS; having a background in family-based or humanitarian immigration matters is beneficial.

Role Duties

  • Analyze and process USCIS communications, including RFEs, NOIDs, and application rejections.
  • Assess application documents and pinpoint supplementary evidence required by USCIS.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to gather additional evidence.
  • Undertake legal and factual investigations.
  • Prepare preliminary versions of cover letters, motions, and briefs.
  • Refine work products in collaboration with the team leader and lawyers.

Qualifications and Expectations

  • Minimum one year of paralegal experience, particularly in drafting responses to RFEs or NOIDs.
  • Experience in handling VAWA, T-Visa, U-Visa, Asylum, Medical DA, I-601, DS-260, and DS-160 applications is advantageous.
  • We offer training for exceptional writers with backgrounds in different areas of immigration law.
  • Extensive experience in legal research and document drafting.
  • At least one year of immigration law experience.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Bachelors degree or paralegal certification is mandatory.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a must.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, MS Excel, DropBox, MS Outlook).
