Overview
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction group in the Richmond Hill area seeking an experienced Accounting Manager. This is a key role within the organization, ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who can operate both strategically and tactically. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, along with experience in cost analysis and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, general ledger, and month-end close
• Perform detailed financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions
• Manage job costing, project accounting, and cost control processes
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Collaborate with internal departments to support financial operations and reporting needs
• Support and mentor accounting staff as needed

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the construction industry
• Strong understanding of cost accounting and project-based financials
• Professional accounting designation (CPA or in progress) preferred
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities

Compensation

• Salary commensurate with experience
