Varnisher – Job Summary (Cruise Ship)

The Varnisher is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and conservation of the ship's wooden surfaces and related areas onboard. The role reports to the Accommodations Maintenance Manager and involves varnishing, polishing, and maintaining guest and crew areas.

Main Duties:

• Varnish and maintain railings, wall panels, wood floors, furniture, and other wooden surfaces.
• Follow safety, environmental, and company standards onboard.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and guest complaints.
• Properly use and maintain chemicals, tools, and equipment.
• Work flexible shifts and assist with emergency or additional maintenance tasks when needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position or as an assistant.
• Good English communication skills.
• Completed STCW95 and social responsibility training.
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Professional attitude and customer service skills.
