Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and responsible Chief Officer (C/O) to join our container vessels. The Chief Officer is the head of the deck department, overseeing cargo operations, vessel stability, safety management, and supervision of all deck crew under the authority of the Master.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all cargo loading, discharging, and stowage operations.
• Ensure vessel stability, ballast management, and compliance with regulations.
• Oversee maintenance of deck equipment, lifesaving appliances, and firefighting systems.
• Lead safety drills and emergency preparedness onboard.
• Manage, train, and supervise deck officers, Bosun, and crew.
• Maintain ISM/ISPS compliance, safety management systems, and documentation.
• Act as second-in-command, assuming command in the absence of the Master.

Qualifications

• Valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) and Certificate of Proficiency (COP) under STCW 2010 Chief Mate / Master (Reg. II/2).
• Advanced Safety Training: Advanced Fire Fighting (A-VI/3), Medical First Aid (A-VI/4-1), Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (A-VI/2-1).
• Valid Medical Certificate (ENG1 or equivalent).
• Significant sea service experience as Second Officer or equivalent.
• Strong leadership, management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent command of English for maritime communication (Marlins or equivalent preferred).
• Physically fit and capable of performing officer duties at sea.
