Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and responsible Bosun (Boatswain) to lead the deck crew onboard our container vessels. The Bosun is the senior rating on deck, supervising Able Seamen (AB) and Ordinary Seamen (OS), ensuring safe and efficient deck operations, maintenance, and seamanship duties under the direction of deck officers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily work of ABs and OSs on deck.
• Lead deck maintenance: painting, cleaning, greasing, and minor repairs.
• Direct mooring, anchoring, and cargo handling operations.
• Assign lookout and steering duties as instructed by deck officers.
• Ensure deck crew compliance with safety standards and participate in drills.
• Maintain inventory of deck tools, ropes, and safety gear.
• Act as the link between officers and crew, ensuring clear communication.

Qualifications

• Valid STCW certificates (Basic Safety Training, Security Awareness, etc.).
• Proven sea service experience as AB with promotion to Bosun or equivalent.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Good command of English for maritime communication (Marlins or equivalent preferred).
• Physically fit and capable of performing shipboard tasks.
