Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Fourth Engineer (4/E) to join our container vessels. The Fourth Engineer is responsible for assisting in the operation, maintenance, and repair of engine room machinery, ensuring safe and efficient vessel performance under the supervision of senior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor auxiliary engines, purifiers, compressors, and pumps.
- Assist in maintenance and repair of engine room machinery and systems.
- Keep watch in the engine control room under the direction of the duty engineer.
- Record machinery parameters, fuel/lube oil consumption, and maintain engine logbooks.
- Assist in bunkering, fuel transfer, and pollution prevention operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Participate in emergency drills and respond to machinery-related incidents.
Qualifications
- Valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) and Certificate of Proficiency (COP) under STCW 2010 Engineer Officer of the Watch (Reg. III/1).
- Basic and Advanced STCW Training: Basic Safety Training (A-VI/1), Advanced Fire Fighting (A-VI/3), Medical First Aid (A-VI/4-1), Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (A-VI/2-1).
- Valid Medical Certificate (ENG1 or equivalent).
- Sea service experience as Engine Cadet or equivalent.
- Knowledge of marine engineering systems, machinery operations, and maintenance procedures.
- Good English communication for maritime operations (Marlins or equivalent preferred).
- Physically fit and capable of performing engine room duties.
