Job Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Able Seaman (AB) to join a container vessel. The Able Seaman will be responsible for assisting in deck operations, cargo handling, and navigational duties, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in mooring and unmooring operations during port arrivals and departures.

Handle cargo operations, including container lashing, securing, and deck maintenance.

Stand navigational watch and assist the officers in lookout duties.

Operate and maintain deck machinery, winches, cranes, and mooring equipment.

Perform routine maintenance, painting, chipping, and cleaning of the deck and superstructure.

Assist in launching and recovery of lifeboats and safety drills.

Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, STCW, and company safety regulations.

Follow orders from the Bosun, Chief Officer, and Deck Officers as required.

Maintain ropes, rigging, and deck tools in proper condition.

Participate in emergency response and firefighting drills.

Requirements:

Valid STCW certification and required maritime training.

Minimum 2 years of experience as an Able Seaman on container vessels.

Knowledge of deck operations, mooring, and safety procedures.

Familiarity with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, and other maritime regulations.

Good physical fitness and ability to perform labor-intensive tasks.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Fluent in English (basic proficiency required for maritime communication).

Physically fit and able to meet maritime medical fitness standards.
