About the Position

The Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of public areas throughout the ship, helping create a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests.

As this position works in areas frequently used by guests, candidates should have a positive attitude, good personal presentation, and basic English communication skills.

This position is suitable for candidates with entry-level experience who are interested in developing a career in hospitality and the international cruise industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain public areas such as corridors, lounges, stairways, elevators, restrooms, and other assigned guest areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, polish, and sanitize surfaces according to company standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of guest restrooms and replenish amenities when required.
• Ensure assigned areas remain clean, organized, and presentable throughout the shift.
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests and spills in public areas.
• Use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment safely and correctly.
• Follow hygiene, sanitation, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Provide polite and professional assistance when interacting with guests.
• Work closely with Housekeeping colleagues and other departments when required.
• Follow daily assignments and instructions provided by supervisors.
• Maintain professional grooming and appearance according to company standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning, hotel, resort, serviced apartment, hospital, shopping mall, restaurant, or other service-related environment is preferred.
• Candidates with less than 1 year of experience are welcome to apply.
• Entry-level candidates with strong service attitude and willingness to learn may be considered.
• Basic conversational English is required.
• Able to communicate politely with guests and colleagues.
• Service-minded with a positive and professional attitude.
• Able to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Physically fit and comfortable with active work, standing, and walking for extended periods.
• Able to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment.
• Willing to work onboard for an extended contract period.
