Purpose of Position:

• Processes guest, officer, and crew laundry, ensuring proper pressing, cleaning, and finishing.
• Maintains high-quality standards in laundry operations, ensuring compliance with Vikings STAR Service Standards.
• Contributes to guest satisfaction and operational efficiency while ensuring proper hygiene and garment care.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect laundry items for stains, damages, and other issues, reporting any problems to the Wash Specialist or Dry-Cleaning Specialist.
• Operate pressing equipment in accordance with Vikings Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain a hazard-free working area, complying with all safety policies and procedures.
• Report laundry equipment malfunctions and damages to the Laundry Master.
• Properly handle cleaning products, materials, and laundry equipment, ensuring correct disposal of garbage and adherence to Public Health Standards.
• Participate in daily team meetings ("The Daily Reunion"), aligning with team operational needs and service standards.
• Provide the highest level of guest comfort and service, maintaining exceptional cleanliness and hygiene in assigned areas.
• Ensure smooth laundry operations, preparing services according to guest flow, embarkation/disembarkation, sea days, and onboard activities.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and use correct lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
• Maintain professional grooming standards per Vikings Image and Uniform Policies.
• Secure company property, particularly during rough weather conditions.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
• Gain knowledge of itinerary ports, shore excursions, and shipboard activities.
• Support achieving Laundry Department goals (quality and financial targets).
• Follow safety and security protocols, participating in fire prevention and evacuation drills.
• Assist in other departments as needed.

Qualification (Your Profile)

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Senior Laundryman or similar position in a premium hospitality environment.
• At least 1 year of experience in shipboard laundry operations is required.
• Fluent in English strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Guest-focused, service-oriented, with a positive personality and professional appearance.
• Flexible, stress-resistant, team player, with a strong work ethic.
• In-depth knowledge of pressing equipment operation and ironing techniques.
• Comprehensive understanding of Public Health and Sanitary Policies.
