Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Master / Captain to lead operations on a container ship. The Captain will be responsible for the safe navigation, cargo operations, and overall management of the vessel, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Command and oversee the safe navigation and operation of the container vessel.

Ensure the safety of all crew members and cargo.

Implement and enforce SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, STCW, and other maritime regulations.

Monitor cargo loading/unloading procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Manage and coordinate with port authorities, shipping agents, and company offices.

Assess weather conditions, plan routes, and make informed navigational decisions.

Supervise ship maintenance, safety drills, and compliance with safety management systems.

Oversee crew performance, training, and compliance with international standards.

Maintain updated ship records, logbooks, and required documentation.

Ensure the vessel adheres to charter party agreements and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

Valid Master Mariner License (Unlimited) or equivalent certification.

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Captain on container vessels.

Strong knowledge of cargo handling procedures, stowage planning, and container ship operations.

Familiarity with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, STCW, and other maritime regulations.

Excellent leadership, decision-making, and crisis management skills.

Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).

Physically fit and able to meet maritime medical fitness standards.
