Job Description Wine Steward

Purpose of Position:

  • Supports food & beverage (F&B) operations at all times, ensuring adherence to Vikings STAR Service Standards.
  • Ensures that glassware, equipment, utensils, and products in the assigned area are maintained and exceptionally clean.
  • Creates a guest-oriented service culture to enhance guest satisfaction and repeat business, increasing revenue and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of all Bar Menus to deliver exceptional service.
  • Ensure accurate guest charges and promptly report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Conduct daily wine presentations in coordination with the Executive Chef & Sommelier for all restaurant outlets.
  • Serve beverages during meal periods, following company alcohol serving policies.
  • Assist and support Waiters during service.
  • Organize wine tastings and participate in shoreside wine-related excursions when required.
  • Properly store and manage Bar and Cellar Inventory Stock, maintaining par-levels and following Public Health Policies.
  • Follow service procedures according to company SOPs and Public Health Policies.
  • Assist in preparation and execution of F&B activities across all outlets.
  • Minimize equipment loss/damage and maintain high sanitation and cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure mise-en-place is ready 15 minutes prior to service.
  • Participate in daily operational briefings ("The Daily Reunion").
  • Deliver high-quality guest service, maintaining impeccable hygiene and STAR Service Standards.
  • Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures.
  • Maintain professional grooming standards as per Vikings Image and Uniform Policies.
  • Secure company property, particularly during rough weather conditions.
  • Support the Bar Department in achieving financial and quality goals.
  • Follow safety and security policies, participating in training, fire prevention, and evacuation drills.
  • Assist in other departments or perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualification (Your Profile)

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Wine Steward or similar position in a premium hospitality or restaurant environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Physically fit able to carry heavy items, stand, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods.
  • Fluent in English excellent communication skills.
  • Flexible, stress-resistant, team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Guest-focused, service-oriented, with a professional appearance and impeccable hygiene standards.
  • Good knowledge of sanitary standards.
