Chief Officer

Position: Chief Officer on Commercial Vessel Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Officer to join our team on a commercial vessel. The Chief Officer will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies, and managing the crew on board. This is a challenging and demanding position that requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and extensive knowledge of maritime operations. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee the safe navigation and operation of the vessel, including monitoring weather conditions and ensuring compliance with all safety protocols - Manage and lead the crew on board, delegating tasks and responsibilities as needed - Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies, including maintaining proper documentation and records - Plan and coordinate the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring proper stowage and securing of all goods - Conduct regular safety drills and training for the crew, ensuring a high level of preparedness in case of emergencies - Maintain and manage the vessel's equipment and machinery, ensuring proper maintenance and repairs are carried out as needed - Monitor and manage the vessel's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and minimizing expenses - Communicate with port authorities, other vessels, and company headquarters as needed - Keep accurate records of daily activities and submit reports to the captain and company management as required Requirements: - Valid Chief Officer license and relevant certifications - Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Chief Officer on commercial vessels - Extensive knowledge of maritime regulations and safety protocols - Strong leadership and communication skills - Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions in emergency situations - Excellent organizational and time-management skills - Experience with cargo operations and stowage - Proficient in English, both written and verbal - Ability to work long hours and be away from home for extended periods of time We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for career advancement.
