Job Description Executive Housekeeper
Purpose of Position:
- Oversees the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments, ensuring a clean and well-maintained ship environment.
- Manages a team of 90100 Officers and Crew, ensuring compliance with Vikings STAR Service Standards.
- Ensures guest satisfaction and high-quality service, contributing to the companys profitability and reputation.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily inspections of guest staterooms, public areas, crew areas, and laundry facilities.
- Supervise the cleaning and maintenance of all areas to ensure compliance with Public Health Policies.
- Manage the laundry department, ensuring proper cleaning of guest linens, uniforms, and laundry services.
- Monitor guest ratings and feedback, identifying opportunities for service improvement.
- Facilitate and participate in departmental meetings, shipboard inspections, and operational reviews.
- Oversee inventory control, approving purchase orders and requisitions for housekeeping and laundry supplies.
- Supervise luggage handling operations, ensuring smooth embarkation and disembarkation processes.
- Provide leadership and training, ensuring crew productivity, satisfaction, and retention.
- Conduct daily team meetings ("The Daily Reunion"), ensuring compliance with Vikings STAR Service Standards.
- Provide leadership in performance reviews, training, and compliance with MLC (Maritime Labor Convention).
- Ensure adherence to Vikings Image and Uniform Policies, maintaining high grooming standards.
- Implement safety measures, ensuring company property is secured and protected, especially during rough weather conditions.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
- Support achieving Housekeeping and Laundry Department KPIs (quality and financial goals).
- Follow safety and security policies, participating in fire prevention and evacuation drills.
Qualification (Your Profile)
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Executive Housekeeper in a premium hospitality environment.
- Experience managing ship operations with 500+ staterooms is required.
- Fluent in English excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to speak additional languages is an advantage.
- Strong leadership and training skills, with experience in managing multi-cultural teams.
- Flexible, stress-resistant, team player, with a strong work ethic.
- Advanced administrative skills, including proficiency in PC-based databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Guest-focused, service-oriented, with a professional appearance and impeccable hygiene standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Public Health and Sanitary Policies.
- Experience in dry-dock or new-build ship launches is preferred.
