Job Overview:

We are seeking a Fourth Engineer to join a container vessel. The Fourth Engineer is responsible for assisting in the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of the ships engine and auxiliary systems, ensuring the vessels smooth and safe performance while complying with international maritime regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Third Engineer and other senior engineers in operating and maintaining the main engine, auxiliary engines, boilers, pumps, and other ship machinery.

Conduct regular inspections, cleaning, and preventive maintenance of engine room equipment.

Monitor and record engine performance, fuel consumption, and machinery operating parameters.

Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical failures and breakdowns.

Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, STCW, and other maritime regulations.

Participate in safety drills, emergency procedures, and pollution control measures.

Maintain engine logbooks and technical records.

Support the engine room team in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the engine department.

Report any technical issues or required maintenance to the Third Engineer.

Learn and develop knowledge under the guidance of senior engineers for future career progression.

Requirements:

Valid Fourth Engineer License or equivalent certification.

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Fourth Engineer on container vessels (fresh graduates with relevant training may be considered).

Basic knowledge of marine engineering, propulsion systems, and auxiliary machinery.

Familiarity with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, STCW, and other maritime regulations.

Good problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).

Physically fit and able to meet maritime medical fitness standards.
