Position: Nurse (Cruise Ship)

Job Summary:

The Ship Nurse is responsible for providing compassionate, professional medical care to both guests and crew onboard. Working under the supervision of the Ship Doctor, the Nurse assists in daily medical operations, emergency response, and health surveillance while maintaining the highest standards of care and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care for both crew and guests, including triage and emergency support
  • Assist the Doctor with medical procedures, examinations, and treatments
  • Administer medications and perform wound care, IVs, and vital sign monitoring
  • Maintain medical records, medication logs, and clinic inventory
  • Assist in infectious disease surveillance and outbreak prevention
  • Support crew medical check-ups and health education initiatives
  • Participate in emergency drills and response teams (e.g., Code Alpha)
  • Ensure cleanliness and readiness of all medical facilities and equipment
  • Assist in coordination with port agents and hospitals for medical disembarkations

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with a valid license in home country
  • Minimum 3 years of post-registration clinical experience (ER or ICU preferred)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certified
  • Previous cruise ship or remote environment experience preferred
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Proficient with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office
  • STCW and Crowd Management certification preferred (can be arranged pre-departure)
