Position: Medical Secretary (Cruise Ship)

Job Summary:

The Medical Secretary supports the onboard medical team by managing administrative and clerical tasks in the ships medical center. This role is essential to maintaining accurate medical records, coordinating appointments, and ensuring smooth communication between the medical staff, ship management, and external providers.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist guests and crew visiting the medical center
  • Schedule medical appointments and maintain medical logs
  • Handle medical billing and process insurance claims per company protocols
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of patient medical records
  • Coordinate medical reports and documentation for shore-based medical care
  • Assist medical staff with administrative tasks, supply inventory, and reporting
  • Communicate with onboard departments and port agents regarding medical issues
  • Support emergency response processes and documentation as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of administrative experience in a medical, hospital, or clinic setting
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and medical record systems
  • STCW certification preferred (can be obtained during pre-joining process)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and patient confidentiality (HIPAA or equivalent)
