Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Officer to join a container vessel. The Chief Officer will assist the Master in managing ship operations, ensuring safe navigation, cargo handling, and crew supervision while maintaining compliance with international maritime regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Master in overseeing vessel operations and safety procedures.

Supervise cargo operations, loading/unloading, and stowage planning to ensure compliance with stability requirements.

Monitor navigational watch and ensure safe passage planning.

Ensure proper maintenance of safety and firefighting equipment onboard.

Conduct safety drills and ensure the crew is trained in emergency procedures.

Implement and enforce SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, STCW, and company policies.

Supervise and manage the deck crew, assigning duties and overseeing work performance.

Maintain ship logbooks, cargo records, and necessary documentation.

Monitor weather conditions and assist in making navigational decisions.

Ensure compliance with port and international shipping regulations.

Requirements:

Valid Chief Mate License (Unlimited) or equivalent certification.

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Chief Officer on container vessels.

Strong understanding of container handling procedures, cargo operations, and ship stability.

Familiarity with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, STCW, and other maritime regulations.

Excellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.

Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).

Physically fit and able to meet maritime medical fitness standards.
