Job Description Beverage Manager
Purpose of Position:
- Ensures the efficient operations of all bar lounges, bars, restaurants, special events, and guest areas where beverage services take place.
- Actively involved in service operations, sanitation, environmental, and maintenance procedures according to company policies.
- Monitors all Beverage Service system reports to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Creates a guest-oriented service culture to increase guest satisfaction, repeat business, and company profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor beverage sales from restaurant teams, oversee revenue, cost, and inventory reports, and provide suggestions to the Hotel General Manager.
- Maintain & control Beverage Stock Holding, working closely with the Inventory Manager for future orders and ensuring par levels are maintained.
- Assist the Hotel General Manager in organizing and executing bar/lounge functions & special events.
- Organize, manage, and motivate the Beverage Department, with a focus on sales and promoting Vikings Destination Beverage Package.
- Ensure proper equipment handling, sanitation, and cleanliness standards to comply with Public Health Policies.
- Participate in ship loadings, waste management, and embarkation/disembarkation assistance.
- Understand working hours policies and procedures, manage crew schedules, contracts, and payroll documentation.
- Lead a multi-cultural team, ensuring team satisfaction, productivity, and retention.
- Conduct daily team briefings and ensure mise-en-place is prepared 15 minutes before service.
- Personally follow up on guest complaints and report incidents to the Hotel General Manager.
- Provide leadership in crew training, performance reviews, compliance with labor regulations (MLC), and succession planning.
- Maintain impeccable grooming standards and ensure compliance with Vikings Image and Uniform Standards.
- Ensure all Human Resources matters are handled fairly and professionally in accordance with Vikings Policies, Procedures, and Code of Conduct.
- Maintain security of company property, especially during rough weather conditions.
- Ensure that Public Health, Safety, and Security policies are met, and participate in training, fire prevention, and evacuation exercises.
Qualification (Your Profile)
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Beverage Manager or similar position in a premium hospitality or bar environment.
- Shipboard experience in the Beverage Manager position is required.
- Fluent in English excellent communication skills.
- Experience in leading multi-cultural teams.
- Strong administration skills proficient with PC-based databases, spreadsheets, and word processing systems.
- Guest-focused, service-oriented, and professional appearance.
- Excellent knowledge of Public Health Policies.
- Strong work ethic, motivational skills, and coaching abilities.
