Job Description (English):

The Chef de Partie Baker is responsible for the daily production of high-quality breads, rolls, pastries, and other baked goods onboard Celebrity Cruises vessels. This position ensures consistency, presentation, and freshness in all bakery items, upholding the brands world-class culinary standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the preparation and baking of all bread and bakery items for both guest and crew outlets.
  • Ensure all baked products meet Celebrity Cruises standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and production schedules as instructed by the Executive Pastry Chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery area in compliance with USPH and HACCP regulations.
  • Monitor proofing, baking temperatures, and timing to ensure consistent results.
  • Check and control the use of bakery supplies, ingredients, and storage conditions.
  • Train and guide assistant bakers to ensure efficient teamwork and product consistency.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or shortages promptly to supervisors.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and safety-conscious attitude at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional bakery experience, with at least 1-2 years as Chef de Partie Baker or Senior Baker in a hotel, resort, or cruise environment.
  • Diploma or certification in Bakery / Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts.
  • Strong knowledge of bread-making techniques (yeast dough, sourdough, viennoiserie, gluten-free, etc.).
  • Knowledge of USPH and food safety standards preferred.
  • Good command of English (spoken and written).
  • STCW Basic Safety Training preferred (can be completed after passing the interview).
  • Team player with creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for baking.
