FITTER A/C

Job Overview

The Fitter A/C maintains and repairs the ships HVAC and refrigeration systems, including AC units, ventilation, walk-in fridges/freezers, ice machines, mini-bars, and other cooling equipment. Duties include preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, handling refrigerants, ensuring safety and environmental compliance, and supporting the engineering team in maintaining proper climate control onboard.

Experience Required

• Requires prior sea-service experience as a shipboard A/C or refrigeration fitter, though no specific number of years is specified.
• Experience must involve working with HVAC, refrigeration, and A/C systems on seagoing vessels. Required knowledge includes screw and centrifugal compressors, A/C troubleshooting, licensed refrigerant handling, maintenance of cooling systems in cabins and public areas, and adherence to marine engineering safety standards.
