Job Overview

We are seeking motivated and hardworking Wipers to join the engine department on our container vessels. The Wiper is an entry-level rating responsible for assisting with cleaning, maintenance, and basic engine room duties under the supervision of engineering officers and senior engine crew.

Responsibilities

• Assist in routine cleaning of the engine room and machinery spaces.
• Support oilers, fitters, and engineers in daily maintenance and repair tasks.
• Perform basic lubrication, wiping, and housekeeping of machinery and equipment.
• Follow instructions during machinery operations and safety drills.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards at all times.
• Report any abnormalities or hazards to senior engine crew.

Qualifications

• Valid Certificate of Proficiency (COP) under STCW 2010, including Basic Safety Training (A-VI/1) and Security Awareness/Designated Security Duties (A-VI/6).
• Valid Medical Certificate (ENG1 or equivalent).
• Prior engine room or seafaring experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a multicultural team.
• Physically fit and capable of performing shipboard duties.
