About the job Security Guard (Private Island)
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Port Facility Security Guard is responsible to patrol the destination as per the schedule assigned and report any security and safety observations. This position follows day-to-day security operations under the guidance of the Assistant Port Facility Security Officer (APFSO).
All duties and responsibilities are performed following Royal Caribbean Internationals Brand Standards, the Royal Way philosophy, Company policies, and SOPs, Public Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental Guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures team members, visitors, guests, and property security on the destination.
Guards and protects the destinations entry and exit from unannounced visitors.
Follows the Security team schedule rotation to cover various stations on various shifts.
Conducts visual checks, static, and mobile patrols to ensure safety.
Uses clear, concise, and professional communication in person, over the radio, or by phone.
Maintains an orderly, clean, and safe work area.
Participates in trainings and meetings on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
Displays advanced time management skills and completes tasks in a timely manner.
Adheres to a Company confidentiality agreement and follows Companys Standard Operating Procedures.
Greet and interacts with local officials, visitors, guests, and police.
Acknowledges and greets guests, visitors, and team members in public spaces with a warm, friendly greeting.
Ensures personal appearance, personal hygiene, and uniform appearance are always in accordance with Company Policy. Maintains a safe and sanitary environment for guests and fellow team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent vocational training.
A minimum of six (6) months of related experience and/or training in the related field.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with guests. French and Créole are required
Ability to read and write English, in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers, and team members.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste and smell. The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
All destination team members must be physically able to participate in emergency life-saving procedures and drills. Full use/range of motion of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal, and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Destination outdoor environment where high temperature, precipitation, and humid temperatures are experienced.
While performing duties of this job, the team member is required to work outdoors in extreme humid and hot conditions for extended periods of time.
This is a position where duties are exercised outdoors, walking in sand, and uneven surfaces.
