Job Title: Fitter
Location: International Container Vessels (Ocean Network Express ONE)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Fitter to join the engine department on our container vessels. The Fitter plays a vital role in maintaining and repairing engine room machinery, auxiliary systems, and ship structures under the supervision of engineering officers.

Responsibilities

• Perform fitting, welding, and minor fabrication work in the engine room and deck areas.
• Assist engineers in machinery maintenance, overhauls, and repairs.
• Operate and maintain workshop tools and equipment.
• Support preventive maintenance and safety checks on mechanical systems.
• Respond to emergency repairs during voyage as required.
• Ensure compliance with company safety and environmental procedures.
• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the engine workshop.

Qualifications

• Valid Certificate of Proficiency (COP) under STCW 2010, including Basic Safety Training (A-VI/1) and Security Awareness/Designated Security Duties (A-VI/6).
• Valid Medical Certificate (ENG1 or equivalent).
• Sea service experience as Oiler or proven technical/mechanical background.
• Proficiency in welding, fitting, and use of workshop tools.
• Good teamwork and communication skills in a multicultural environment.
• Physically fit and capable of performing shipboard duties.
