CDL A Driver Trainee – OTR – Paid Training

American Driver is expanding its OTR fleet and currently looking for recent CDL graduates in the Houma, LA area. If you just finished CDL school and want to start earning while you build real road experience, this is a straightforward path to do that.

Training is fully paid. You'll ride with an experienced mentor for 4–6 weeks covering real freight, real routes, and everything you need to operate safely and compliantly on your own.

What the job looks like after training:

• Dry van, no-touch freight
• 60% drop and hook
• 2,200–2,500 miles per week
• Day and night runs depending on dispatch
• Minimal downtime, consistent freight

Pay:

• $0.56–$0.65 CPM depending on experience
• Weekly earnings typically $1,200–$1,500
• Pay raises every six months
• Extra pay for stops, layovers, and breakdowns
• $300 paid orientation
• Weekly direct deposit

Home Time:

• Planned home time every two weeks

• Freightliner and Kenworth tractors (2022–2025) with APUs

Requirements:

• 21+ with valid Class A CDL
• Must have completed a minimum of 120 hours of instruction from an accredited CDL school
• Recent graduates welcome
• Clean MVR — no major violations in last 3 years
• No DUI in last 5 years
• Urine and hair follicle drug test required
