How it starts

Orientation lasts up to 2 days and pays $300 once you're hired. We cover lodging and reimburse your bus ticket. Then you spend 3 to 5 weeks with a mentor driver, about 200–250 hours. You're paid $850 every week during training.

How it runs

After training you run solo in the states west of the Mississippi River. Most trips are 3 days or less, at 1,800–2,200 miles a week. You won't be sent to the East Coast unless you ask for it. Winter brings some mountain weather, and you'll be trained for it.

How you're paid

  • $1,000–$1,200 average per week, which works out to $52,000–$62,400 a year
  • $1,000 weekly minimum for your first 3 months after your first solo dispatch
