About the Role

American Made Solutions is partnering with a high-volume manufacturing client in Cartersville, GA, seeking a hands-on Installation Crew Lead to manage the assembly of internal piping, valve and meter systems within modular units. This is a dynamic role where technical know-how meets leadership, and the focus is on quality, productivity and team development. The right person will lead by example, get hands dirty, and drive a small crew to deliver accurate, high-quality assemblies on a consistent basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a crew of 5-7 assemblers in the installation of valves, meters, piping assemblies inside modular units.
• Receive, inspect and perform first-article verification of incoming parts for each job: ensure accuracy, completeness, dimensional/quality check before release to the assembly line.
• Ensure materials are safely unloaded (forklift certified / operator) and staged correctly for assembly teams.
• Monitor quality of assemblies, perform final checks, ensure parts match drawings/specs before hand-off.
• Drive production schedule: monitor progress, identify bottlenecks, suggest process improvements.
• Approve vacation/time off for crew, deliver coaching/counselling, enforce attendance/discipline policies in alignment with company standards.
• Be hands-on when needed: climb in/out of modular units, assist with final inspections, tackle technical issues alongside the team.
• Promote a safe working environment: enforce safety protocols, identify hazards, ensure PPE usage and general house-keeping of workspace.

What Youll Need

• Technical background in plumbing, fire-sprinkler mechanics, piping systems or similar experience with valves, meters, piping layout is a strong plus.
• Experience supervising a small crew (5-7 people) in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Leadership and people-skills are more important than just technical skill.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain; comfortable unloading trucks, staging materials.
• Physically capable: frequent climbing in/out of units, bending, reaching into assemblies, working in a manufacturing environment exposed to weather elements, high ceilings, confined areas.
• Strong communication skills, ability to coach, discipline, give feedback and build team capability.
• Proven track record of meeting production expectations, managing time-off, ensuring quality and productivity.
• Safety mindset and willingness to work in a manufacturing plant environment (indoors/outdoors, all seasons).

Preferred (but not required)

• Experience in modular manufacturing, precast or heavy industrial assembly.
• Proven process improvement contributions (lean, 5S, Kaizen).
• Ability to read prints or schematics for piping/valves.
