TIG Welder/Fabricator
American Made Solutions is looking for a hands-on TIG Welder/Fabricator who can produce clean, consistent welds on stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel, including thin sheet as light as 24-gauge. This role blends precision TIG welding with light fabrication and fit-up to deliver production-ready parts that meet tight tolerances and cosmetic standards.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Pay: $23-$25 per hour (based on weld test & experience)
Job Duties
- Perform GTAW/TIG welding on stainless, aluminum, and steel; maintain heat control and distortion management on thin materials (down to 24 ga).
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work travelers to plan sequence, fit-up, and final welds.
- Cut, fit, square, and tack components; use jigs/fixtures as needed to hold tolerances.
- Grind, dress, and finish welds to specified cosmetic standards; verify dimensions with calipers, squares, and tape.
- Follow all safety and quality procedures; maintain a clean, organized work cell.
- Collaborate with leads/quality on first-article checks and in-process adjustments.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of recent TIG welding experience across stainless, aluminum, and steel, including thin-gauge (24 ga) sheet.
- Proven ability to produce pin-straight beads, proper penetration, and minimal heat warping on thin material.
- Solid blueprint reading, weld symbol recognition, and layout/fabrication skills.
- Comfortable with common fab tools (grinders, saws, deburring, hand tools); basic math and measurement (accurate to 1/32").
- Reliable, safety-minded, and able to lift 50 lbs and stand for the shift.
- Nice to have: AWS certifications (e.g., D1.6/D1.2), experience with back-purging and fixture design.
