Production Quality Control Technician

We are currently seeking a Production Quality Control Technician to support a high-volume production environment. This role plays a key part in final assembly, testing, quality verification, and documentation of electronic equipment and assembled units before release. The Production Quality Control Technician ensures that all completed units meet performance, functional, and visual quality standards prior to shipment. This includes assembling hardware components, performing system/software setup, conducting electrical and functional testing, reviewing serial documentation, and completing final inspection sign-offs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, and configure electronic components and sub-assemblies according to work instructions and specifications.
  • Load, update, and validate software or firmware on system boards and control modules.
  • Connect and operate testing equipment to verify hardware and software performance.
  • Inspect wiring, harnessing, fasteners, connectors, and structural components against build standards.
  • Perform functional testing on buttons, displays, power supplies, control boards, and peripheral components.
  • Review serial numbers and internal documentation to ensure tracking accuracy and traceability.
  • Perform refurbishments or rework when needed, including part replacement, cable routing corrections, and cosmetic quality corrections.
  • Record inspection data, document findings, and escalate issues when required.
  • Maintain clean, organized workstations and follow all safety and handling procedures.
  • Support incoming equipment evaluations and assist with vendor return or repair documentation.
  • Take ownership of overall equipment quality before units move to packaging or customer delivery

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in assembly, electronics, light manufacturing, or quality inspection preferred will train the right mechanically inclined candidate.
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools (drivers, torque tools, cutters, etc.).
  • Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams, or wiring documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency in documentation.
  • Competent in basic computer usage (email, data entry, spreadsheets, software updates).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and identify basic issues in hardware or software configurations.
  • Able to push, move, or position equipment weighing up to ~350 lbs. with a cart/dolly; lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal direct supervision.
