Schedule: MondayFriday | 6:00 AM 4:30 PM + Some Saturdays | Overtime Available

Pay: $27.00 $30.00/hr (Based on Experience)

About the Role

American Made Solutions is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic / Maintenance Technician to support a high-production manufacturing operation. This role focuses on maintaining and servicing trucks, forklifts, work vehicles, small engines, and general plant equipment to keep daily operations running smoothly. This is not a sit and wait mechanic position we need someone who takes pride in preventative maintenance, inspections, and ensuring equipment is always ready before problems occur. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in a heavy industrial environment throughout all seasons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel trucks, forklifts, and small engines.
  • Complete oil changes, belt and filter replacements, fluid checks, and tire rotations/balancing.
  • Inspect and service handheld and power tools, compressors, and shop equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical issues efficiently and safely.
  • Assist with general facility maintenance, including lighting, minor painting, and organization.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records.
  • Identify early signs of mechanical wear and address issues proactively to reduce downtime.

What Youll Need

  • Hands-on diesel mechanic experience (no engine/transmission rebuild experience required).
  • Understanding of diesel systems, hydraulics, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment with exposure to weather.
  • Must bring your own tools required for daily mechanical work.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize repairs, and stay ahead of maintenance needs.
  • Willingness to work overtime and some Saturdays as production requires.

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience repairing forklifts or heavy equipment
  • Small engine repair background (tools, compressors, generators, etc.)
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
