Manager of Data Governance and Quality
We are seeking an exceptional Manager of Data Governance and Quality to accelerate business transformation through robust data governance and data quality initiatives. This pivotal role involves leading the Enterprise Data Governance Council and integrating best practices to develop an enterprise framework, policies, and essential roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Spearhead the development and execution of the data governance strategy, ensuring high standards of data quality and governance, and fostering innovation in the data marketplace.
- Roadmap Development: Create and implement a comprehensive data governance and quality roadmap aligned with the Enterprise Data Strategy to enhance efficiency, improve data quality, and drive competitive advantage.
- Best Practices: Stay abreast of data standards and best practices related to data governance, data quality, and data marketplace, ensuring effective collaboration across all data disciplines.
- Project Prioritization: Drive prioritization across project release schedules to support business transformation priorities while enhancing data quality and operational efficiency.
- Executive Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership to align data initiatives with overall business objectives, ensuring data supports and accelerates strategic goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration and alignment with IT, business analysts, and executives.
- Budget Management: Efficiently manage the budget for data operations and invest in the professional growth and development of the data governance team.
- Framework Building: Develop the Enterprise Data Governance framework and facilitate associated councils and steering committees.
- Vendor Management: Communicate and coordinate with vendors, managing strategic vendor relationships.
- Standards Definition: Define data quality standards, data protection standards, adoption requirements, and performance metrics to ensure compliance with data-related policies and standards.
- Accountability: Establish clear roles and responsibilities related to data governance, ensuring accountability for the stewardship of the company's principal information assets.
- Issue Resolution: Lead and coordinate with senior management to prioritize and resolve end-to-end data governance issues across business units and departments.
Qualifications:
- Education/Credentials:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Management, Business). A Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years in a leadership position with extensive experience in data governance and data quality.
- Knowledge/Experience:
- Exceptional understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
- Proven expertise in data quality tools and methodologies.
- Deep knowledge of data management software and tools (e.g., data warehouses, ETL tools, data modeling tools).
- Comprehensive understanding of data security and privacy best practices.
