(Pinewood) Secondary Modern Greek Language Teacher - Maternity Leave

Pinewood seeks a dynamic Modern Greek language teacher for a maternity leave cover during the 2023-2024 academic year. We seek a teacher who exhibits excellence in the classroom and encourages students development as informed global citizens.

The ideal candidate will implement modern, student-centered approaches to Greek language teaching and learning. S/he is expected to work cooperatively with students, parents, and colleagues to create and support an inclusive, individualized, creative learning environment with student success as the foremost goal.

Maternity Leave Time Period

The period which we seek a teacher for is September 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024. The position is approximately 15 teaching hours per week.

Scope of the Position

The Modern Greek language teacher reports directly to the Elementary and Secondary Principals and works closely with the PYP and MYP Coordinators and the relevant Department Chair. S/he is responsible for teaching Greek to native and/or non-native speakers in both Elementary and Secondary.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree or higher in Greek philology

Native speaker of Greek with strong fluency in English

Interest, initiative and drive to develop modern approaches to curriculum, teaching, and learning

Demonstrated ability to be flexible and work as part of a team

Experience working in an international school environment is desirable
