(Pinewood) Elementary Substitute/Aide Position

Overview of the Position

Pinewood seeks a full-time, dynamic Substitute/Aide. We seek a teacher who exhibits excellence in the classroom, encourages students' development as informed, kind, global citizens and is interested in working collaboratively with colleagues. Someone who will participate collaboratively and professionally with the Principal and teachers in creating an optimal learning environment that allows our students to develop to their fullest potential in a nurturing atmosphere.



Required Responsibilities/Skills for substitution/aide

• Substitutes for any teacher or Early Years aide when they are absent.
• Supervises students during unstructured times, such as breaks, as well as during assemblies, transitions, evacuations, and during teacher absences
• Manages classroom behavior
• Assists with attendance, reception, and clerical duties as needed
• Assists with special school events, which may require flexible hours
• Attends meetings and training as needed
• Works in a collaborative manner with the Principal and teachers
• Responds appropriately to students' learning and emotional needs
• Maintains a safe, clean, and healthy environment
• Initiates and models positive interactions with students
• Performs any other tasks as requested by the Principals and the PYP and Curriculum Coordinator
