Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Fleet Controller to join our team in Cape Town. The Fleet Controller will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our fleet, ensuring that all vehicles are properly maintained, and deliveries are made on time. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and transportation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. Key Responsibilities: - Plan and coordinate the daily operations of the fleet, including scheduling and dispatching of vehicles - Monitor vehicle tracking systems to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods - Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repairs - Manage driver schedules and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations - Communicate with clients and provide updates on the status of deliveries - Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations - Analyze data and identify areas for improvement in fleet performance - Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs and increase efficiency - Train and mentor new drivers and provide ongoing support and guidance to the fleet team - Ensure compliance with all safety and transportation regulations Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field - Minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet management or a similar role - Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics operations - Excellent organizational and time-management skills - Ability to multitask and work well under pressure - Proficient in using fleet management software and GPS tracking systems - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Knowledge of safety and transportation regulations - Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
