Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Rigger to join our team in Cape Town, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently rigging and lifting heavy equipment and materials, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company standards. Key Responsibilities: - Perform rigging and lifting operations according to project specifications and safety regulations - Inspect and maintain rigging equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition - Communicate with crane operators to ensure safe and efficient movement of materials - Identify potential hazards and implement necessary safety measures - Assist with the assembly and disassembly of cranes and other equipment - Collaborate with project managers and other team members to plan and coordinate rigging activities - Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner - Participate in safety meetings and training sessions as required Qualifications and Skills: - High school diploma or equivalent - Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Rigger in the construction or industrial sector - Certification in rigging and lifting operations - Strong knowledge of rigging techniques and equipment - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications - Excellent communication and teamwork skills - Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions - Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects - Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures - Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills Working Conditions: This is a full-time, permanent position based in Cape Town, South Africa. The role may require working outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights. The successful candidate may also be required to work overtime or on weekends as needed.
