Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher Assistant to join our team in Durban, South Africa. As a Teacher Assistant, you will work closely with our teachers to support and enhance the learning experience of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students
- Monitor and track student progress
- Assist with classroom management and behavior management
- Prepare teaching materials and resources
- Supervise students during breaks and other activities
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Perform administrative tasks as assigned by the head teacher
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma, a degree in education or related field is preferred
- Previous experience working with children or in a classroom setting is an advantage
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives
Contract Details:
This is a full-time position with a 1-year contract. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm. The salary will be competitive and based on qualifications and experience.
