Job Summary

The Network Administrator position is responsible for the successful design, development, maintenance and support of the network, as part of the Company team.

Essential Job Functions

Maintaining computer networks and systems including VPNs, Fortigate Firewalls, Switches including HP, Aruba, and Dell, other physical hardware and software.

Installing and configuring network equipment to update or fix hardware or software issues.

Updating virus protection software to keep data and communications protected.

Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks.

Communicating networking issues to other employees and management, especially in training new users.

Fixing software and hardware configuration issues for users on-demand or from inspection of the systems.

Provide IT system administration support, including network troubleshooting.

Perform Firewall and Network Equipment updates as directed by policy.

Respond to IT help desk requests and monitoring system alerts promptly and effectively.

Escalate open issues when delays or problems are encountered.

User training documentation creation and maintenance.

Misc. IT documentation.

Project lead for misc projects as assigned.

Participate in project planning and meet project milestones and deliverables.

Document design, development, changes, and support issues; track time and resources used.

Take on the lead technical role in assigned areas, acquiring expertise in the relevant applications, technologies and business use of IT.

Cross-train other associates in new and changed applications, and in relevant areas where you have expertise. Find opportunities to cross-train in other associates' areas of responsibility and expertise. Provide backup and secondary support of other applications as needed.

Investigate the business processes in areas you work with, to identify improvements, and potential new IT tools or applications. Identify opportunities for company to better serve its members, and for the IT department to better serve its customers.

Minimum Qualifications for Consideration

Qualifications include:

A degree in Information Technology, a related technical or management field, or equivalent experience and training.

1 years experience in Networking, Firewalls and HA/Failover administration.

Fortinet certifications a Plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Installation and configuration of hardware including but not limited to servers, routers, and switches.

Upgrade, maintain and repair company computer networks.

Troubleshoot network issues after analyzing and isolating them.

Designing network models.

Implement security measures to protect company and user data, monitor networks to ensure their availability to specific users and maintain the integrity of the network and server deployment.

Installing and supporting internet, intranet, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and network segments.

Responsible for monitoring the performance of various network servers like file servers, intrusion detection systems and VPN gateways.

Knowledge of Windows domains, how they interact at the user/workstation levels.

Knowledge of Windows Server, Linux server and Windows Workstation operating systems.

Extensive Networking Knowledge DNS, IP/subnets, netstat, NAT, wireshark/tcpdump.

Basic registry editing.

Basic powershell and/or bash scripting.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Good interpersonal skills: able to work well with a wide range of people.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules.

Good follow through on projects and deliverables.

Good analytical skills.
