AI Scientist

The Role A leading statutory body in Singapore is looking for an AI Scientist to design and develop reusable, scalable, and cost-effective cloud-native data and AI products. You will be part of an AI development team responsible for exploring and developing applications with state-of-the-art AI technologies.

As an AI subject-matter expert, you will join cross-functional teams to address common industry challenges. Successful candidates will work in a fast-paced environment alongside technology partners to develop data-driven products that make a significant positive impact on society and the regional digital economy.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners, engineering teams, and industry partners throughout the product development lifecycle (concept to end-of-life).
• Conduct technical assessments on the maturity and viability of AI research and trends relevant to the industry.
• Develop software components based on a microservices-based architecture.
• Participate in agile secure software development processes, including documentation and requirements gathering.
• Propose and validate algorithms, ensuring requirements like transparency, fairness, scalability, and security are met.
• Author thought leadership articles, blogs, and papers regarding AI developments.
• Facilitate technology transfer and engagement with research institutes and institutes of higher learning.

Requirements

• Education: Postgraduate or Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of AI, specifically in Computer Vision (CV), Natural Language Processing (NLP), recommendation systems, or Synthetic AI.
• Deployment: Understanding of AI research for production, including deployment to mobile handsets and IoT devices.
• Programming: Proficient in Python or C++.
• Frameworks: Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Soft Skills: Proven team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in cross-functional environments.
