Business Development Manager – Freight Forwarding

Job Responsibilities
* Manage and grow a portfolio of existing client accounts, maintaining strong long-term business relationships.
* Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across Singapore and regional markets.
* Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, from prospecting and client engagement through to proposal, negotiation and account conversion.
* Understand customer shipping requirements and recommend suitable freight forwarding and logistics solutions.
* Work closely with internal operations, pricing and support teams to ensure proposed solutions are commercially viable and operationally deliverable.
* Support the development of business across existing and new Asian trade lanes, including opportunities involving regional customers and overseas partners.
* Prepare quotations, proposals and commercial presentations, and participate in customer meetings and negotiations.
* Monitor market developments, customer requirements and competitive activity to identify new areas for business growth.
* Maintain ownership of client relationships and ensure continued account development after onboarding.

Requirements
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding, logistics sales, business development or account management.
* Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Business/Maritime Studies, International Trade, Business, or a related discipline.
* Good working knowledge of freight forwarding and international logistics, particularly air and sea freight.
* Proven experience in both managing existing accounts and developing new business.
* Experience dealing with Singapore and Asian markets is preferred.
* Strong commercial awareness, communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
* Able to work independently and take manager-level ownership of accounts, pipeline and business development activities.
* Comfortable engaging customers across different industries and understanding varying shipment and logistics requirements
