General Manager, China
Location: Rudong County, Nantong City, Jiangsu Province (close to Shanghai)
About the Company
The business designs and manufactures specialised vehicle and crane equipment, serving both the China market and an expanding international customer base.
With a strong manufacturing foundation and an experienced local leadership team, the JV is entering its next phase of growth with a sharper export focus, increased agility, and closer alignment with global governance and operating standards.
The Opportunity
We are appointing a General Manager, China, to lead the overall business, drive commercial performance, and represent the JV at group and board level.
This role is suited for a commercially driven GM with an international mindset, capable of leading a mature organisation while evolving its growth model beyond a traditional China-centric machinery business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full P&L ownership for the China business, covering revenue, profitability, cash flow, and growth
- Define and execute business strategy in alignment with the Board and Group governance
- Drive sales and market expansion, with increasing emphasis on export and international markets
- Lead and align the leadership team, including Deputy GMs and functional heads across operations, sales, and support functions
- Partner closely with Group stakeholders, including Board of Advisors and senior executives (mostly are based in Europe)
- Strengthen organisational effectiveness, culture, and execution discipline while maintaining agility
- Represent the company externally with customers, partners, and shareholders
What Were Looking For
- Proven senior leadership experience as GM / Business Head / Commercial Leader in industrial, machinery, or engineered products environments
- Strong sales or commercial background – candidates who have grown from Sales Director or equivalent tracks are highly valued
- Experience operating within international or European-led governance structures
- Track record of leading established teams with influence and credibility – charisma and leadership presence matter
- Comfortable balancing structure with speed in a manufacturing-led business
- International mindset with strong cross-cultural communication skills
- Open to being based in Nantong, Jiangsu (close proximity to Shanghai)
Compensation: Competitive, commensurate with experience
